Resident Evil Revelations 2 is the upcoming survival horror sequel to 2012’s first entry that had players take a side story approach to the main story of Resident Evil 6. Spoilers for the story are below, so if you want to go in blind, you have been warned.
Resident Evil Revelations 2 is set to continue the story of Claire Redfield and newcomer Moira Burton, Barry Burton’s daughter. New information surfaced via the November issue of Gamesmaster Magazine and Push-Start. The magazine went on to tell even more about the setting and gameplay the game will have. Claire has grown as a character and is now a ‘seasoned veteran’ whereas Moria will be supportive in providing herbs and flashlight in single-player sessions. Moria’s death will not end in a game over, only Claire’s in single-player sessions.
Just like previous entries, it will be co-op or single-player, and take place on an abandoned island detention facility and takes place in the Resident Evil timeline between Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. The story begins right after Claire and Moria are abducted. Â It will feature new enemies called ‘afflicted’ and will look like zombies but described as something ‘quite different’. The game will run at 1080p at 60fps on PC and next-gen consoles.
Resident Evil Revelations 2 is set to release on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC early 2015.
