Alpha invites for From Software’s upcoming game Bloodborne are going out according to reports from various gamers. Currently there are mixed reports about how to get into the program. Some say you have to have earned a Platinum Trophy in either Dark Souls or Dark Souls 2, while others say you merely have to have played either game. Still, some claimed to have received the email without ever playing a From Software game before. Players who met whatever criteria is being used have been receiving an email from Playstation stating:

Your skill and dedication have been recognised; you have been selected to join the exclusive Bloodborne Alpha Test!

The small-scale test is being conducted in order to gather community feedback and data to improve Bloodborne’s online experience. Click here to learn more about the game.

If you would like to participate in this exciting opportunity to get early access to Bloodborne and a sample of its online features, please complete this exclusive Bloodborneâ„¢ Alpha Test enrolment form here.

The Bloodborne Alpha Test is not final. Players may experience bugs and incomplete features that do not represent the final product. Thank you for helping us create a better experience for all fans when the game launches early 2015.

Once you get the email you are able to opt-in to the Bloodborne Alpha Program, but codes have not been sent out just yet. Likely From Software and Sony are looking at how many responses they get before sending codes to everyone.

This is a pretty early test for the game, which has only been playable at select conventions. Likely it will feature a lot of bugs and issues, but players should get a good idea for how the game will play. Strong comparisons have been made between Bloodborne and From Software’s past titles in the Dark Souls series, leading to high anticipation among fans.

Bloodborne will be released on February 5th 2015 exclusively for PS4.
