Late last month, Nintendo made the surprising reveal of the New Nintendo 3DS that would serve as an upgrade to the original. Releasing in Japan on October 11, it was said that the handheld would be coming to the US and Europe sometime in early 2015. However, not everywhere outside of Japan will have to wait until next year as Nintendo announced it would be coming to another region this November.

In their first ever Nintendo Direct, Nintendo Australia revealed that the New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL would be releasing in Australia and New Zealand on November 21. In Australia, the New Nintendo 3DS will retail for $219.95AU and only come in White, though 20 face plates will be available. The New Nintendo 3DS XL will come in Metallic Blue and Black with a retail price of $249.95AU.

In addition, neither version will come with a charger as previously announced in the other territories, but they will cost $14.95AU by themselves.

For those hoping this means that the US and Europe will change their mind and release it before the year is up, you will likely be disappointed. Nintendo will aim to clear existing stock for the 3DS and 3DS XL this holiday season before introducing a new SKU early next year.
