Racing games sometimes don’t have the most authentic audio when it comes to the cars. It appears Driveclub will make sure the sounds of cars will be as accurate as they can possibly can be.
Driveclub director, Paul Rustchynsky, hasn’t been very shy to fans answering many different questions about the game on his official twitter account. This time, he answered what the sound will be like in the game and the lengths Evolution Studios did to make the audio as real as it can sound like.
He confirmed that Driveclub cars were recorded using 16 different microphones. He also mentioned nearly all of the cars in the game were recorded this way and the team went to “extreme lengths to capture the audio on Driveclub”.
This will be good news for hardcore racing fans that feel video games fail to capture the raw sound of a car accurately. Driveclub has 50 cars on launch with more to be added in as DLC. Nearly all of them will sound great from the sounds of things.
On a related note, Rustchynsky said they will be adding “new races that’ll feature weather”. Dynamic weather will feature heavily in Driveclub, but will be added as an update after the game’s launch from October 7th.
