Over the last month, it seems like we’ve had a number of stories where PSN has been down, but during that time Xbox Live has managed to stay afloat. However, it appears that one part of the Xbox Live service is messed up right now on Xbox One.
When trying to access your friends list, you will be greeted with the message that says “We can’t show your friends right now.” The same goes for when trying to look at favorites and followers as well. It was first pointed out by a member of NeoGAF about two hours before this posting, where many members commented with the same problem. I personally tested it just now as of 8 pm EDT on Sunday night and it is still not working on my end at all.
The official Xbox website did not have mention of it earlier, but recently they have posted that there are issues with managing friends list, so they are aware of it at least now. Most haven’t noticed any problems with the rest of Live, though one did mention getting booted off Destiny earlier. However, that might be a random occurrence that has nothing to do with Xbox Live itself.
This isn’t a major issue, but it is a problem for those looking to play online with friends tonight and can’t see whether they are online or not, so hopefully it will be fixed soon enough.
