The 20th Anniversary PS4 console that is the same PSOne grey color is already sold out.
As announced earlier this week, Sony is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the PlayStation brand. The PSOne first came out in Japan on December 3rd, 1994. After that, PlayStation took the world by storm and never looked back.
To commemorate the big occasion, Sony revealed a 20th Anniversary Edition PS4 that comes in the iconic grey color. Not only is the console grey, you also get a DUALSHOCK 4 controller, PlayStation Camera and a vertical stand.
Normally a PS4 costs $399, but this is a special bundle that will set you back $499. Only 12,300 units were produced around the world and within minutes, the console already sold out.
Gamers were only allowed to pre-order the 20th Anniversary PS4 via the official Sony Store. The link to the product page is still active, although right now you cannot order it. Earlier in the day, the page came with an error which probably meant so many people logged onto the site to try and get a unit quickly.
Sony never revealed if more units of the 20th Anniversary PS4 will be produced in the future. With it now sold out, expect to see prices skyrocket when these are eventually put up on eBay…
