Update: Rumor: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Release Date Revealed

Several online retailers (including Microsoft Store) have revealed what could finally be the official release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

If you visit the Microsoft Store right now, they have listed that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be out on February 24th, 2015. The same release date was listed on other online retailers such as Rakuten and SmartGamesShopper.

February 24th, 2015 falls on a Tuesday which is normally when games come out in North America. If this date is true, this could mean Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be out on February 27th, 2015 in Europe and PAL territories.

Bear in mind, Konami has not announced an official release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain just yet. It’s also worth mentioning the Microsoft Store has been wrong in the past. They listed a February 2015 release for Batman: Arkham Knight earlier this year, but the game is being released on June 2nd, 2015.

Still, it might be possible Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain comes out in February as Ground Zeroes was released around the same time in 2014.

We’ll just have to wait and see if Konami gives a comment on this. One might think a February release might be too early as this won’t give gamers much time to pre-order it.

Update: Konami has confirmed that these retailers posted the wrong release date. It’s not coming out in February.
