Mad Catz has long been one of the most well renowned third party accessory companies in the gaming industry, with an array of different products on the markets over the years. One segment they have made an impact in has been gaming mice, including the popular line of R.A.T. gaming mice. With CES going on right now, it seemed like the perfect time to unveil their latest product in that product line with the R.A.T. PROX.
Coming from the accessory’s official press release, Mad Catz describes the mouse by saying:
“Conceived to be the most advanced gaming mouse in the world, the R.A.T. PROX includes a magnesium alloy chassis to reduce weight and enhance strength and a completely reinvented Scroll Wheel system delivering new ways to play.
“With numerous patents pending, the R.A.T. PROX is compatible with PC and expected to ship spring 2015. Designed to offer a future proof upgradable solution, the R.A.T. PROX is capable of growing with the gamer, incorporating Modular Sensor Units (MSU), allowing gamers to swap out the sensor of their R.A.T. PROX to suit individual styles of play or when new sensors become available.”
One of the new implementations on this device that Mad Catz is particular touting is the new scroll wheel, with the ability to adjust the click force of the wheel. Including the ability to swap out the wheel, an analogue strafe feature will also be included that will allow gamers better control over the horizontal movements of the scroll wheel. Stay tuned for more updates in the next day or two from Mad Catz as they unveil their product lineup for 2015.
