In a very anticlimactic reveal that has been in development for over two years, SEGA and Creative Assembly have inadvertently announced the next major entry in the Total War franchise. This time featuring the Warhammer universe.
Fans may have seen this coming since 2012 when Creative Assembly, the minds behind Total War and 2014’s Alien: Isolation, partnered up with Games Workshop who create and distribute Warhammer 40K products.  A recent post at Total War Center, which was later found by NeoGaf, shows a fan who was able to get their hands on the upcoming ‘Art Of Total War’ book prior to the January 23rd release date. The book has an interview with Creative Director, Mike Simpson where he talks about the future at Creative Assembly and says the following: “We’re also experimenting with this in the mobile space, with Total War: KINGDOM, and taking the series to a fantasy setting with Total War: WARHAMMER.”
There was no mention if the game would release in the near future or not. However, it will likely be announced in the coming weeks and release exclusively on the PC as with previous Total War titles. Fans of both Total War and Warhammer have a lot to be excited about, although those fans of Warhammer more rightfully so as since it is arguable that the franchise hasn’t had a decent game since Space Marine.
