The latest Batman: Arkham Knight trailer, titled Gotham is Mine, is out and it is looking pretty fantastic, while a little bleak for the Dark Knight. This video focuses mainly on the villains of Batman, showing how they all are coming together to rise up against him. Two-Face, The Penguin, the Riddler, the Arkham Knight, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are all wreaking havoc, and it’s all thanks to the Scarecrow, who has united the Rogues Gallery for the purposes of eliminating Batman once and for all.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be the last in the Arkham series from Rocksteady. Beginning in 2009 with the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum, the franchise has reshaped the Dark Knight, and superhero games in general. Combat and maneuverability took center stage, with the addition of Batman’s trademark gadgets acting as icing on the cake. Arkham Knight seems to be bringing the series to a close, but this is not likely the last we will see of Batman in video game form.

A prequel for the series was produced by another developer, leading to speculation that the series will continue once Rocksteady leaves it behind. There could also be a reboot of sorts, with the gameplay and feeling remaining intact, but the current storyline coming to an end.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be available on June 2nd, 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will be rated M for Mature, which is a first for the series. Given the dark nature of the trailer shown here, that isn’t too surprising.
