People doubted Kiefer Sutherland when he got the role of Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The game’s voice director reckons he will surprise people.

YouTube’s YongYea had a chance to interview Paul Eiding who was the voice of the Colonel in the older Metal Gear Solid games. Eiding said he talked with Kris Zimmerman recently about Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Zimmerman is the voice director for the game.

According to Eiding, Zimmerman said some positive words about Sutherland’s performance as Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Zimmerman said “people are going to be surprised” by Sutherland’s performance in the game.

Zimmerman even admitted she had her doubts about Sutherland being Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. She wasn’t sure what it would have been like working with someone famous like Sutherland. After getting to know Sutherland, she says he’s been “a dream to work with“. Sutherland accepts Zimmerman’s direction and has been really receptive.

A lot of people have been positive about Sutherland coming on board for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Even David Hayter wasn’t too sad about losing the role. Although there are rumors Hayter is in the game (somewhere), but Hideo Kojima won’t be sharing this until the game comes out.
