Starting in July, PlayStation Plus subscribers in Europe will be receiving their monthly update at the same time as those in North America.
The news comes from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s Blog Manager, Fred Dutton. He posted a comment that made the announcement in Blog post a few days ago. The update will occur on the first Tuesday in July, which is July 7th. Here’s what Dutton had to say about the change:
“Hey folks. As of this month, Plus games go live in both EU and US on the first tuesday of the month (no longer Wednesday in EU). The first Tuesday in July is 7th July, hence why the games aren’t launching this week.”
This is great news for European PlayStation Plus holders as they no longer have to wait the extra time. In related news, today also marks five years of PlayStation Plus. There is a mention of a ‘limited edition gift’ that will be making its way around to PlayStation Plus subscribers who have been with the program from the start. This has only been mentioned on the European PS Blog, no word if there is anything in store for North American Plus subscribers. Now think back and image all the free games and discounts that PlayStation Plus has given us.
