Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is set to arrive later this year and just about as much discussion this year has been around Hideo Kojima himself as the game. While we still don’t know the details from behind the scenes, Kojima is departing Konami after the completion of The Phantom Pain and it appears Konami doesn’t even want his name mentioned in any way.
Well known gaming YouTuber Angry Joe got the opportunity to go to Konami this past week to interview a Konami representative about the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. He has uploaded that interview to his YouTube account, but prefaced this by posting his own vlog with details of the pre-interview process.
Angry Joe explains that upon his showing up at Konami, they pulled him aside and told him not to even bring up Kojima period during the interview.
Angry Joe had aimed to go in to the interview and ask hard hitting questions about microtransactions in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and how Konami will handle the franchise after Kojima’s departure.
According to his vlog, he tried to get a question in about Kojima, but had to reword it before Community Manager Robert Peeler would answer it.
For those interested in hearing about the process before the interview, you can check out the vlog below.
