Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will seemingly serve as Hideo Kojima’s swan song at Konami, so it is hard to believe it is finally almost ready to release. Information about the game has been kept very close to the vest, but a special preview event has led to some details coming out, including possible indications of the game’s length.

Yesterday, Konami held an exclusive review event for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in Los Angeles where members of the media were invited to attend and try out an “advanced preview build” of the game.

Yong Yea is one of the biggest names in the Metal Gear Solid community through his YouTube channel, where he has interviewed multiple voice actors and such associated with the series over time. As a result, he was invited to this event and answered plenty of fan questions after the fact through his Twitter page.

There were plenty of interesting responses that he gave, but one of the biggest was involving the length of the game. He responded by saying that he played for eight hours, which included six main missions and four side ops and yet had only completed 5% of the game.

This makes Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain sound like it could be massive, which is what we should expect with the first open-world entry in the series. We won’t know for sure however until Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain releases on September 1.
