It’s been confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront will run on dedicated servers. Speaking to PlayStation LifeStyle, Jamie Keen, senior producer at DICE, confirmed that dedicated servers will be provided for their upcoming Star Wars shooter in order to ensure a quality online experience.

“We’ll still have dedicated servers. Absolutely,” said Keen. “It’s one of the hallmarks of making sure we deliver an unparalleled online [service] for the game.”

DICE are no stranger to controversy, with Battlefield 4 notoriously launching with a bevy of game-breaking bugs and glitches, taking months to resolve. In fact, first-person shooters in general have seen a fairly uneasy ride this console generation, with Halo: The Master Chief Collection also falling victim to a mountain of connectivity issues.

Star Wars Battlefront isn’t very far away, and approaching its release, DICE are beginning to share more details. They’ve recently unveiled that they want players to be able to use Heroes in Villains, such as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, for roughly two minutes at a time.

Star Wars Battlefront is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 17th, with an open beta coming to the aforementioned platforms this October.
