Ridley Scott, the director of such famous movies as Alien, Gladiator, and Black Hawk Down, has been releasing tidbits of information regarding his sequel to Prometheus, which begins filming in January and production in February. During an interview with Hey U Guys, Scott revealed the title of the sequel, which will be called: Alien: Paradise Lost, a reference to the epic written by John Milton.
Alien: Paradise Lost, is a sequel to Scott’s prequel of the Alien franchise, Prometheus, which came out back in 2012. Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are already set to come back and reprise their roles as David and Elizabeth Shaw as they continue their journey to the home planet of the Engineers. It was also revealed the other day that Scott has planned it to be a series of films that won’t directly connect to the Alien universe until the third or fourth film.
While Prometheus polarized fans and critics alike, I appreciated the film and what it was trying to do, and being a huge fan of the Alien universe, I can’t wait to see what else Scott has up his sleeve. The idea of learning who the Engineers are and why they created the Xenomorphs intrigues me, and with Neill Blompkamp directing Alien 5, there’s no better time to be a fan of the series.
