A recent estimate shows that Halo 5: Guardians sold around 1.46 million units in its first week on sale.

This is according to an estimate made via VGChartz. They reported that Halo 5: Guardians sold 1,457,849 units worldwide at retail. It was also for the week ending October 31st. The estimates cover four days that the game was on sale.

In terms of regional breakdowns, 930,385 units were sold in the USA while 361,963 units were sold in Europe. The percentage equates to 64 percent to 25 percent of sales respectively. This means 161,501 units were sold in other regions with 11 percent of the sales.

If VGChartz’s estimates are accurate, Halo 5: Guardians is at the lower end of units sold compared to the other games in the popular franchise.

Here’s the breakdown of launch week sales: Halo 3 – 3.81 million, Halo Reach – 3.70 million, Halo 4 – 3.66 million, ODST – 2.21 million, Halo 5: Guardians – 1.46 million, Halo: TMCC – 0.90 million, Halo Anniversary – 0.73 million and Halo Wars – 0.60 million.

First week sales of Halo and Halo 2 were not collected. It’s worth mentioning all data is from sales that were made at retail stores. It does not take into account digital sales.

Halo 5: Guardians’ sales could be higher if digital sales were included because more people download games more in 2015 than in prior years.
