Any big game that makes its way to the PC brings with it a lot of questions and worry about whether those with less than top-of-the-line PCs will be able to run it. Far Cry Primal is one of these games, boasting stellar visuals, and a massive open world to explore. However, Ubisoft has revealed the minimum and recommended PC specs for Far Cry Primal, and they actually don’t seem too bad, allowing those with mid-tier machines to join the fun.
The minimum required specs a PC will need to run Far Cray Primal are a PC running Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 (64-bit versions only), an Intel Core i3-550, AMD Phenom II X4 955, or equivalent, at least 4GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 (1GB VRAM), AMD Radeon HD 5770 (1GB VRAM) or equivalent GPU, and 20 GB of hard drive space. The specs also point out the obvious, being that you will need a keyboard and mouse, with a controller being optional.
Meanwhile, the recommended specs are again a PC running Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 (64-bit versions only), an Intel Core i7-2600K, AMD FX-8350, or equivalent, at least 8GB of RAM, along with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780, AMD Radeon R9 280X, or equivalent. The hard drive space and peripheral requirements stay the same, meaning there probably isn’t a a higher res texture pack for Far Cry Primal.
So those aren’t too bad, but of course that’s the bare minimum, meaning you won’t get the nice 1080p or above resolution, and 60fps or higher framerate that PC enthusiasts always enjoy. Even the recommended specs will probably only get you close to the 1080p, 60fps range, but they at least mean you’ll play the game in a nice visual format.
Far Cry Primal will be released on February 23rd for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
