Ubisoft released a free new update to Rainbow Six: Siege on Tuesday dubbed Operation Black Ice. The new content includes a frosty new map along with two new operators and weapon skins plus a host of gameplay balance changes.

The Operation Black Ice content pack comes with the new Yacht map along with Operator Frost and Buck from the elite Canadian special operation JTF2 force. They are joined by a new set of three new weapon skins.

Ubisoft also made the Spectator Camera feature available for 5v5 custom games on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Previously only available for the PC, an 11th player will act as the observer and control the camera as it switches between player views or follows the entire map from the tactical view.

Rainbow Six: Siege will make all new maps, modes, and operator free for all owners of the game in order to keep the tactical shooter’s community together. The difference is Season Pass holders will automatically gain access to the new operators while everyone else will have to unlock them using the in-game currency or with R6 Credits.

A large suite of new gameplay and bug fixes was also implemented with Rainbow Six: Siege. The most prominent of these is muting Operator shouts for enemy teams, doubling the effective range of the flashbang, and fixing players being shot while deploying reinforced walls and castle barricades.

The 3.5 GB patch also comes with a hefty amount of bug squashing. Full details on the bug fixes and gameplay tweaks can be found on the Rainbow Six website.
