PlayStation VR finally got its much awaited release month and pricing during last week’s GDC conference, which was quickly followed by news that pre-orders would be going up soon. However, that was said to be for a more expensive bundle that comes with not just the headset, but also some some optional accessories, as well as one that is necessary. Pre-orders for that bundle is coming this week, but now it has been revealed that those looking to pre-order just the headset for $399 will have to wait until next week.
The PlayStation VR Launch Bundle that was announced is set to come with a PlayStation Camera, two Move controllers, and PlayStation VR Worlds for $499. However, outside of the game, some gamers may already own the other included accessories, so they would not want to spend the extra $100 to get duplicates.
As revealed by the official PlayStation blog, pre-ordered for a non-bundle version of PlayStation VR will go live in one week in similar fashion to how they are handling the bundles.
This basic $399 bundle will officially go live for pre-order at 10:00 am ET at select retailers on March 29, so you won’t have to wait too long.
It is good news that you will have technically two chances to pre-order for now, with the bundle going live this week and the non-bundle next week. Hopefully everyone who wants one will be able to get one, but these are bound to sell out very quick.
