BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Adds Platinum The Trinity, Kanji Tatsumi, And Orie

Arc System Works has announced three more characters who will be joining the BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle roster as DLC: Platinum the Trinity, Kanji Tatsumi and Orie.

Platinum the Trinity is from BlazBlue, Kanji Tatsumi is from Persona 4 Arena and Orie is from Under Night In-Birth. From the looks of things, these three characters will be who’s included in the first DLC character set that Arc System Works revealed mid-January.

This reveal comes on the heels of a recent controversy which arose after Arc System works revealed that the base roster would consist of 20 characters and be doubled through the use of DLC. This wouldn’t be a bad thing in normal situations, but the issue that many took offense to was the fact the majority of these characters would be reused assets.

To its credit, Arc System Works did confirm that the base game and the DLC when priced together would cost roughly the same amount of a full ArcSys title, and attempt to smooth things over with fans by making RWBY’s Blake Belladona and Yang Xiao Long free to play.

Despite those attempts, however, it still crappy to know that these characters — along with pretty much everyone else — will be reused assets that players still have to pay for. At least the characters themselves are popular.

Lastly, as the trailer mentions at the end, the next announcement will be coming in March, so stay tuned.

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is due out for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC on May 31 in Japan and Asia, and June 5 in North America.
