For some time now PC players have had access to the latest Sword Art Online games. However, up until now they couldn’t enjoy one of the key entries to get started on this universe. Today Bandai Namco has announced that Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment will be launching on Steam on March 23, which is one month after the release of the latest game in the series, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. And that’s not all, as those fans who pre-order Fatal Bullet will get a free download code for Re: Hollow Fragment to use when the game launches.

As the name suggests, Re: Hollow Fragment is an updated version of the original Hollow Fragment game for PSVita, which has been previously released on PS4. While this is technically the second entry in the series, this new version features story content from Sword Art Online: Infinite Moment for PSP as a summary, effectively serving as the entry point in the franchise. Just keep in mind that the games present an alternate timeline to the events of the anime.

The story of Hollow Fragment focuses on Kirito, a player of an online videogame who has been trapped inside of it, and will die on the real world if someone eliminates him on the game.

As for Fatal Bullet, the game launches on February 23 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and Bandai Namco has showed plenty of gameplay footage, and even the opening video.
