The Call of Duty: Elite service has seen its fair share of controversy since it was announced earlier in the year. Â Fans have been wondering how much this premium subscription to the Call of Duty stat-tracking and social hub for the game would cost. Â Today, Eric Hirshberg revealed that the Call of Duty: Elite service will cost $49.99 per year. Â Since the Call of Duty: Elite subscription comes with access to all of the DLC to the game, if Modern Warfare 3 follows the track record of Black Ops, gamers should save a little bit of money by purchasing the service.
With each COD map pack costing around $15, depending on how many content updates Modern Warfare 3 will contain, Elite might be a better deal than many have given it credit for. Â The service also features a slew of options that range from the impressive stat tracking features, to the social aspects that foster meeting like minded players.
Call of Duty: Elite  is currently in beta, and will be available before November 8th, when Modern Warfare 3 is set for release.
