After missing out on E3 2018 due to the FIFA World Cup, THQ Nordic is once again ready to step into the limelight by appearing at Gamescom and show off a handful of games that its adoring fans have been waiting for.

Many of these announced titles were already detailed in the past, but it’s still nice to see the company list everything fans can expect to see (and play) once next month comes.

Here’s the full lineup:

  • Biomutant (PS4, Xbox One, PC) – Playable
  • Darksiders III (PS4, Xbox One, PC) – Playable
  • Fade to Silence (PS4, Xbox One, PC) – Playable
  • Generation Zero (PS4, Xbox One, PC) – Playable
  • Townsmen VR (Steam VR, Oculus, Vive, Windows Mixed Reality)
  • Wreckfest (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
  • Unannounced Game #1 – “A world exclusive announcement which will break cover during the official Gamescom opening ceremony”
  • Unannounced Game #2 – ???

Among the confirmed titles, two titles that will be interesting to see are Fade to Silence and Generation Zero.

Announced back at The Game Awards in 2017, Black Forest Games’ Fade to Silence is a survival game that has players build and manage a refuge in a post-apocalyptic, frozen wasteland that is rife with “eldritch monstrosities” which seek to become your undoing. The game has been early access since December and has been receiving the occasional update ever since. Presumably, what we see at Gamescom will be close to the final build that players will get when it releases in full next month.

Meanwhile, Generation Zero is an open-world survival game developed by Avalanche Studios. Described as a an “explosive game of cat and mouse,” the game is set in a reimagining of 1980’s Sweden where machines have taken over. As such, players will need to cleverly use the environment to their advantage to fight against their robotic oppressors, all while trying to figure out how and why Sweden has reached its current state. We haven’t seen any extensive gameplay yet, so hopefully we’ll be given a proper glimpse of what to expect when the game arrives in 2019.

Two survival games, two very different ways of playing. Sounds fun.

Gamescom will run from Aug. 21 to Aug. 25.
