It appears much like the funk, the Yakuza series will go on, with Sega confirming that a new title featuring “New Yakuza Series” protagonist Ichiban Kasuga will be coming to the PlayStation 4.

For those who don’t recall, the “New Yakuza Series” is a project that tells the stories set in Kamurocho following the conclusion of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. The first among these, Yakuza Online, is a free-to-play title on smartphones and PC which tells the story of Ichiban Kasuga, a A former wakashu of the Tojo Clan’s Aragawa family. Much like Kiryu in the original game, he took the fall for a crime he didn’t commit, and after leaving prison finds himself in a Kamurocho unlike the one he’s familiar with.

From the looks of it, his story will continue in this new title and will have a female partner backing him up throughout. However, the identity of this character is still unknown, as Sega is currently holding auditions for actresses 20 and up to determine who will play the role. The winner will not only receive the honor of getting the part, but will also receive a cool million yen.

As one might expect with Sega still looking for an actress to play an important character, though, this Yakuza title is still in the early stages of its life cycle, with neither an official title or release date to its name.
