Final Fantasy XIV Player Plays Dancer Using an Xbox Kinect

Recommended Videos

Final Fantasy XIV players have always been resourceful in their ways of bringing a sense of deep devotion to the world of Hydaelyn. Fans of the game will know that the community oftentimes works together and are always there to help one another through the trials and tribulations of Final Fantasy XIV. This sense of community spirit brings an unparalleled satisfaction to venturing through the serene but dangerous world. Players are also inventive in bringing new ideas and memories to the game, such as a recent player who had used the Xbox Kinect to dance in real life and buff their teammates using the Final Fantasy XIV dancer job. That brings inventive thinking to a whole other echelon.

The game has obviously never officially supported the Xbox Kinect natively, this means that many loopholes were utilised by the Redditor who went about doing this in order to make it a functioning feature that genuinely works in the experience. They specifically took on the ‘dancer’ job/role to use with the Kinect and it paid off significantly with the player quite literally ‘dabbing’ around their teammates and towards the location boss.

The Redditor goes by the name of ‘SuperLouis64‘ and as shown above, they can be seen to be dancing to buff their teammates. They are using their modded Kinect in order to perform the actions seen in-game. The user had been experimenting with a Yugioh Duel Disk beforehand and had been playing AST doing so. After they had taken time doing that, the user wanted to test playing the Final Fantasy XIV Dancer job using the Xbox Kinect.

Notably, they did the Carlton dance on ‘King Thordan’ until the boss was defeated, quite the accomplishment indeed. Every dance step had separate motion controls attached to them. The dancer job has separate abilities (actions) to go through and use, this, in turn, allowed the user to create the custom motion controls/dances. Apart from having to activate the Kinect by stepping back and allowing it to track the player, they had been able to use the Kinect efficiently in-game and assist their teammates to a momentous extreme.

The user’s dedication to bringing this controller to life for the Final Fantasy XIV dancer job is exemplary and they should be very proud of their accomplishments. Stay tuned to their page for likely even more interesting and unique achievements.

Will you be trying this method anytime soon with the Dancer job?

Final Fantasy XIV is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
