Genshin Impact Cross-Save: How to Link PlayStation and PC/Mobile Accounts

Recommended Videos

Cross-save has always been present between the PC and mobile versions of Genshin Impact, but the version 2.0 update now allows PlayStation users to link their accounts and enable cross-save. Whether you want to take your PS4 save on the go with the mobile version or pick up your mobile save on your shiny new PS5, this new update has you covered. The account linking system has a few issues though, so you may run into some problems. Here’s how to link your Mihoyo and PlayStation accounts for Genshin Impact cross-save on PlayStation, mobile, and PC.

How to Link a PS4/PS5 Account to PC/Mobile

All you need to do to enable cross-save in Genshin Impact is link your Mihoyo and PlayStation Network accounts. If you want to carry your PSN save over to PC/Mobile, then all you have to do is follow these steps:

  • Log in to Genshin Impact on PS4/PS5
  • Go to Setttings>Account>User Center>Link Account
  • Link your PSN account to an email address that is NOT already associated with a Mihoyo account

As long as you link your PSN to a fresh email that doesn’t have any Genshin Impact progress saved on another platform, then you’ll be able to log in on PC/Mobile using that email address.

How to Link a PC/Mobile Account to PS4/PS5

If you want to carry over your PC/Mobile save to PlayStation, things get a little more complicated. Follow these steps to link a PC/Mobile Genshin Impact account to a new PSN account:

  • Start Genshin Impact on PS4/PS5
  • Follow the steps in the pop-up window to link your Mihoyo account email

If you have already played Genshin Impact on PS4/PS5, then you cannot link your PSN to a Mihoyo account. If you have logged into Genshin Impact on PlayStation at all, then you won’t be able to link. If you already have an existing Genshin Impact save on PlayStation and want to link your PC/Mobile Mihoyo account, then you’ll have to create an entirely new PSN account and link it as if you were a new player.

Be careful not to skip the pop-up window, too. The pop-up window prompt only appears when you start the game for the first time after you agree to the Terms of Service. If you skip the pop-up, then your PSN will log into the game and thus will not be able to link to a separate Mihoyo account.

Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices.
