Metro Exodus: How to Get More Ammo

Metro Exodus is no Call of Duty, or Battlefield, or really any other shooter. This game is unique among the genre, focusing on brutal survival over run-and-gun action. This means that at any given moment, you’ll probably be running low on ammo. If you’re getting into firefights, every gunshot feels like a loss as you watch your ammo counter dwindle closer and closer to zero. When it’s over you’ll probably be asking where you can get more. Here’s how to get more ammo in Metro Exodus.

First off, you can just pick up ammo around the world. So the first step to getting more ammo in Metro Exodus is to explore the world, avoid fighting, and search every nook and cranny to find random ammo scattered about. You can also grab ammo off of downed enemies, both looting their body and their gun specifically by holding B on Xbox One, Circle on PS4, and R on PC. Follow the on-screen prompts to grab what you can and move out before you have to fire off any more shots.

Along with this, you have the ability to craft ammo using the two crafting materials available in game. You can make ball bearings for the Air Gun by just using your backpack. There’s one other type of ammo you can make with your backpack, but it’s pretty late in the game. Early on, you can only make more ammo of other types by heading to a workbench. There’s one on the Aurora and a few randomly scattered around the map, so head to one of these if you want assault rifle or shotgun ammo. You only need those two crafting materials, so disassemble unneeded ammo or items if you need more.

And that’s how to get more ammo in Metro Exodus. Check out our other guides for more help with the game.
