Part 1 of Pokémon GO‘s Halloween 2021 event, Halloween Mischief, starts October 15th 2021 at 10:00 am local time. ‘Creepy Companions’, the title name for the first part of the event, focuses on Poison- and Psychic-type Pokémon, the same typing as the newly released Galarian Slowking, who is making its debut in Pokémon GO. In this guide to Pokémon GO’s Halloween event, we’ll cover everything you need to know to take full advantage of the event, including shiny Pokémon, new costumed Pokémon, Pokémon spawns, Field & Special Research tasks and more. Pokémon GO Halloween Bonuses & Extras

2x Catch Candy, 2x Hatch Candy, 2x Transfer Candy & guaranteed XL candy when walking with your buddy are all active throughout both parts of the event. New Halloween-themed avatar items will be available for purchase and will stay after the end of the event. Halloween-themed stickers will be available from spinning PokéStops, opening gifts or from purchasing them in the in-game store. Three ‘Spooky Bundles’ will also be available throughout the event. Pokémon GO Halloween 2021 Spawns (Part 1)

Halloween Mischief Pikachu and Halloween Mischief Piplup are two brand-new Halloween-themed costumed Pokémon exclusive to this event. You’ll want to catch and hold on to at least one of them both, as costumed Pokémon aren’t guaranteed to ever come back. Spinarak now has its shiny form available and will be appearing in the wild. If you don’t manage to get one, don’t worry! Spinarak’s shiny will be staying permanently after the event. Phantump and Pumpkaboo, the Pokémon making their first debut soon, will not be spawning until Part 2. A full list of spawns can be found below

Pokémon GO Halloween 2021 Raids (Part 1)

Giratina (Altered Forme) is staying as the 5-Star Raid boss for part 1 of the event, however, it will be swapped out for Darkrai during part 2. Giratina does have a shiny form available at a 1 in 20 chance. Halloween Mischief Drifblim, the third and final exclusive costumed Pokémon for this event, is available in 3-Star Raids and is also shiny eligible. Galarian Slowpoke is available in 1-Star raids and can now evolve into Galarian Slowking at any time, including after the event. Finally, Mega Gengar reappears in Mega Raids. Pokémon GO Halloween Field Research Tasks

Field Research tasks are tasks obtainable via spinning Pokéstops. The rewards are the same as the Pokémon currently spawning in the wild, with the exception of ‘Catch 25 Ghost-type Pokémon’, which rewards Galarian Yamask and is currently the only repeatable method outside of 7km eggs to obtain this regional variant, which evolves into Runerigus instead of Cofagrigus.

Pokémon GO Halloween 7km Eggs (Part 1)

Various Ghost- and Psychic-type Pokémon will be appearing in 7km eggs, including Galarian Yamask and Golett. 2, 5, 10 and 12km eggs are unaffected and will function as normal. Remember that 7km eggs are only obtainable by opening gifts and having an open space in your egg inventory! A full list of Pokémon hatchable from 7km eggs can be found below:

A Timed Research is also available and expires at the end of Part 2 on October 31st at 10:00 am local time. This research focuses purely on PvP and is to encourage people to participate in the new Halloween Cup.

  3. Win a Trainer Battle in the GBL – Frillish (Female)
  4. Win 4 Trainer Battles in the GBL – Umbreon
  5. Win 7 Trainer Battles in the GBL – Galarian Yamask

Rewards: 15x Yamask Candy, 15x Sableye Candy, 15x Scraggy Candy
