Pokémon GO: How to Get Galarian Slowking

Add a touch of pink to the spooky season with Galarian Slowking in Pokémon GO.

The sinister-looking Galarian Slowking variation has finally arrived in Pokémon GO, and it can be yours in just a few steps. In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to do to get the new shell-headed addition.

How to Evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking

First, you’ll need to take your Galarian Slowpoke and make it your buddy. If you’ve not got your hands on a Galarian Slowpoke yet, you can catch it during the first half of the Halloween Mischief event’s 1-star raids. This first part, Creepy Companions, runs from October 15 to October 22, so be sure to act fast if you need this pink Pokémon.

With Galarian Slowpoke as your buddy, you’ll need to capture 30 psychic Pokémon while obtaining the necessary 50 Galarian Slowpoke Candy to evolve into the new-to-the-game Galarian Slowking. Once you’ve achieved all the requirements, you’ll notice the option to evolve your buddy when selected. Alternatively, if you’d prefer a friendlier looking teammate, you can still catch 30 poison types to evolve your Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro.

This event is the first opportunity for Pokémon GO players to get their hands on Galarian Slowking, and it’ll be interesting to see if it makes much of an impact on the Battle League. With better offence and defence stats than Galarian Slowbro, matched stamina, and solid psychic-poison typing, it’s likely that if we’re to see either two of these recent additions enter the meta, it’ll be Galarian Slowking.

Once you’ve got your Galarian Slowking, why not get into the spirit and find a bunch of spooky Ghost types to add to your team in Pokémon GO? The Season of Mischief is with us for another 48 days, as of writing, so take advantage of the boosts available to you and head for Battle League with your powerful new poison-psychic type.

Pokémon GO is available now on Android and iOS.
