2K’s Visual Concepts studio is currently hiring for a temporary “Cinematic Animator” to work on WWE 2K17 this year. The listing was put up on the 2K Jobs website.

The job description says:Visual Concepts is looking for hard-working, skilled animators to join the 2K Sports team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will help create AAA in-game cinematics using high-quality motion capture animation. You will work with the team’s Lead Animator in a team of animators to create compelling visuals in a fun and challenging work environment.

The things you will do are:Clean-up and edit motion capture data, Create cameras based on animatics, Animate props and other cinematic assets, Create high quality facial expressions/lip-sync and Implement in-game attributes

The usual requirements are needed for the job such as experience in animation and you have to work well in a team. Some knowledge of the video game industry is a plus too. It’s funny they said another bonus point is to be a “sports entertainment” fan. 2K must be under Vince McMahon’s guidance to not use the words “professional wrestling”…

Since this is a temporary role, WWE 2K17 might be the only game you will be working on, unless the successful candidate makes a good impression. Motion capture work is already underway as we have seen some indie wrestlers already suiting up.
