Koei Tecmo has shared a new trailer of Attack on Titan 2, showcasing the spectacular battles against the gigantic enemies of the game. The developers are hoping to deliver a more realized version of the anime’s universe by introducing new mechanics like an omni-directional battle system, which allows players to freely control their character and act with more precision. The moves of the titans have also been improved to be more complex, in order to resemble those seen in the show.
The game is based on the storylines of the season 2 of the anime, although the team has also introduce brand new stories supervised by the series creator Hajime Isayama, so fans of the show will be able to enjoy new stories aside of the gameplay. Over 30 characters will be available to control, and their relationships with each other will receive a renewed focus as part of the ‘town life’ sections, in order to portray them in a more complex way. Some of the heroes already announced are Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackerman, Armin Arlert, Levi, Miche Zacharias, Nanaba, and Gelgar.
The company also revealed recently that the Nintendo 3DS title Attack on Titan 2: Future Coordinates will feature a collaboration with Danganronpa.
Attack on Titan 2 launches on early 2018 in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Watch the new trailer below.
