Yesterday some exciting gameplay footage from Final Fantasy 7 Remake was revealed at the PlayStation Experience event. Square Enix has now detailed some more news.

Square Enix Community Manager, Dan Seto, posted more details about the game over on the PlayStation Blog. He mentioned at the start that development is “still early days” so obviously the game is not going to be released soon.

Seto confirms that the gameplay “looks more action oriented and has a real feeling of speed“. This is what everyone else thought when viewing the trailer yesterday.

Sony spoke with Yoshinori Kitase who is the producer for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. He also confirms the game is more action orientated because games and hardware have become more “real-time based“.

Kitase didn’t want to say the full game will be fully “action-based“, but he noted the remake will be more real time than the original version of the game.

Seto then concluded that the footage we saw is still a work in progress so the game may appear differently whenever it comes out. Kitase confirmed Seto’s comments by mentioning how much more they can do with the PS4 compared to the PSOne days.

Kitase said they have managed to maintain the visual look of characters like Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith like they appeared in the Advent Children movie. He’s hoping to achieve movie quality visuals throughout the entire game.

If you cannot wait for Final Fantasy 7, you can buy the original on the PS4 right now. The game comes with its own theme as well as new trophies for you to collect too.
