Obviously Rockstar makes quality games, and quality games take time, and in the case of Agent and Max Payne 3, they’re gonna be needing some more of it in development. Take Two announced during its quarterly conference call that these two high profile titles will be delayed, without giving any specific details in regards to when they will release.

Max Payne 3, which was scheduled originally for 2009, then announced for a 2011 release, is definitely not coming this year. Agent, which was the talk of the town and due in 2010, is more vaporware than anything at this point. There has been nothing heard or seen from the title at all.

Max Payne 3 which had been getting a significant amount of press as of late, was slated to continue the Max Payne tale, and we’ve seen screenshots and recieved gameplay details which many thought meant that the game was definitely getting close to the finish line. Agent, which is said to be an espionage title that is set in the 1970’s, has taken a much more private development road.

These announcements came amid Take Two annoucing a return to profitability in a non-GTA quarter, with a considerable upswing in profits year over year. Don’t get too down on these two titles, there’s plenty in the pipeline for 2K.

Duke Nukem Forever, The Darkness II, XCOM, NBA 2K, MLB 2K, and Bioshock Infinite are all coming in the upcoming fiscal year.
