Remedy Entertainment is going to be in the spotlight quite a bit in the next couple months with the release of their upcoming game Quantum Break finally coming on April 5. There have been rumors of Remedy going back to their Alan Wake series next and if a new trademark is any indication, that looks to be exactly the case.

Alan Wake first debuted back on Xbox 360 back in 2010, which got a spinoff a few years later with Alan Wake’s American Nightmare in 2012. Fans have been waiting for the next entry for awhile now, which led to a poster on NeoGAF finding a very interesting listing on the European Union Trademark Database website.

According to the listing, Remedy Entertainment filed a trademark on February 23 for a game titled Alan Wake’s Return. As of this time, the application for the trademark is listed as being under examination, which is no surprise due to it just being filed for.

It is always possible that someone else falsely filed under the name Remedy Entertainment, but with the developer saying they wanted to go back to Alan Wake in the future, it seems very possible this is legitimate.

According to Gematsu, alanwakereturns.com was purchased through the same proxy as other Remedy Entertainment domains last year, so it would seem they have something up their sleeve. If this trademark was truly from them, the question now is whether this is for a brand new game or maybe some sort of re-release of the original or something.
