Importing all of those awesome Japanese exclusive versions of games and consoles is about to get a lot easier, as it has just been discovered that Amazon Japan now offers international shipping on games and consoles. The discovery was made by a NeoGAF user, who linked to a US customer who had just purchased a PlayStation 4 from the Japanese Amazon site.
However, there are some restrictions to take note of if you’re planning on purchasing something from Amazon Japan. You’ll need to create an Amazon.co.jp account, as the account you’re using now will not work. Also, a credit card is required to make purchases and the item you are purchasing has to be sold directly from Amazon and not fulfilled by Amazon or sold from a seller.
Regardless of the restrictions, this is still a huge deal for a lot of people who are regularly disappointed that various special editions or even games themselves aren’t coming stateside. You’ll no longer have to pay extra at import sites, gaining access to a lot more merchandise and saving money in the process.
If you’re worried about trying to navigate a website that is in a language you don’t understand, there is an option that allows you to translate most of the text to English. You can check out the Amazon Japan site by clicking right here.
