Looks like you won’t be able to get a PlayStation VR unit before Christmas from Amazon UK. The retailer has just announced its run out of stock for the rest of the year.
If you go to the Amazon UK listing for the PlayStation VR, it says that it’s temporarily out of stock. They also said the following announcement:
“Amazon has sold through our allocation of PSVR and will not have any more stock before Christmas. Orders will be fulfilled in the order they are placed as soon as we receive further stock. This is likely to be early 2017.”
To add more to this story, PowerUpGaming says that they contacted many other retailers about their stock for the PlayStation VR in the UK. Those retailers say no new stock is expected to come before December 25th, 2016.
The PlayStation VR may not be as crazy as getting the NES Classic from retailers, but it’s still have been a popular item to get by gamers in 2016. It’s the most popular VR item this year thanks to the price compared to the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift devices.
Not to mention the PlayStation VR is easy to set up and use. Any PS4 console is compatible to the device and all you need is the PlayStation Camera to use it. After plugging in some cables, you should be up and running.
People in the UK may not have to worry too much about not getting the PSVR before Christmas. It’s not too bad waiting until January 2017 to have it because that month sees the release of Resident Evil 7.
Resident Evil 7 could be the biggest PSVR game to be released since the launch titles are mostly smaller games or experiences. 2017 will also see the release of more VR games.
