Amiibo Wave 5 is set to hit US shores this Friday, September 11th. Most stores have had pre-orders go up and sell out already, many within just a few minutes. Amazon, the massive online retailer, has been taking a different tactic.
As they did with Amiibo Wave 4, Amazon will be putting each figure in Wave 5 up for sale on the day of release. They will do this one at a time throughout the day, ensuring that traffic doesn’t take the site down, and fans can try to get their preferred figure, without worrying about scalpers gobbling them all up at once.
Over on Reddit an official Amazon representative has shared the schedule, which has all four non-exclusive Amiibo going up every hour starting at 1pm Pacific Time. As has been the case for Wave 4 and Wave 5a, one-click ordering is disabled, and customers will be limited to one of each Amiibo per account. The schedule is as follows:
Ganondorf – 1pm PT (link)
Zero Suit Samus – 2pm PT (link)
Olimar – 3pm PT (link)
30th Anniversary Mario (Classic Color) – 4pm PT (link)
The Amazon representative assured customers that there would be more of these Amiibo than there have been for some of the rarer figures, such as Lucina and Robin from Wave 4. However, they still have limited stock, so if you want one of these you had better be ready when they go live on Friday, September 11th.
