Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Sales Are Soft In The UK

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate was the best selling game in the UK last week, but total sales are soft compared to the other games in the series.

As reported by GFK Chart Track, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s launch “falls short of surpassing any of the other major entries in the famous series“.

The game managed to beat out the sales of last year’s Assassin’s Creed Rogue, but that game was only a spin-off released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles. One would have expected Syndicate to sell a lot better since it’s a major release.

However, the lackluster reception to 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Unity may have made UK gamers shy away from playing Syndicate. Syndicate may not have had all of the bugs that Unity had, but some gamers may have avoided the game.

Not to mention the Assassin’s Creed series is an annually released franchise now. It’s only a matter of time until gamers start to get bored playing the same type of game every year.

Ubisoft can celebrate that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate was still the best selling game last week as it managed to dethrone FIFA 16. It’s just that the sales numbers were a lower than in previous entries.

Syndicate’s reign at the top may not last long with Halo 5: Guardians sure to top next week’s list.
