The popular Auckland Nines tournament has been confirmed to feature in the Rugby League Live 3 video game.
The official Facebook page announced:
“Auckland Nines is now officially announced to be included in Rugby League Live 3!! Have a look at the little teaser we’ve cooked up to get you excited to play with nine players in-game“.
They released a very short teaser confirming the tournament will be in the new game. The video was only 15 seconds long, but it does show us more gameplay footage.
Sadly, no release date updates were given for Rugby League Live 3 yet. The game was scheduled to be out already, but is now expected to come out in late 2015.
This will be the first time the Auckland Nines event will be recreated in a video game. The tournament is held every year in Auckland’s Eden Park and is always a fun time of year for Kiwi sport fanatics.
The Auckland Nines is similar to Rugby Union’s Wellington Sevens. Although instead of seven players, nine players are on the field for each team. The smaller player number means more tries are scored.
Rugby League Live 3 will be out later this year for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360.
