Battle Royale Coming to Xbox June 2nd With The Culling

With the Battle Royale genre growing increasingly popular on PC, consoles are getting their first taste of it on June 2nd when The Culling arrives on Xbox One Game Preview.  Like other games in the genre, The Culling pits players against each other in a setting where they get one life, their wits, and items that they find to help them survive for 25 minute rounds.

The Culling is set up like a sick game show.  Think of it as a modern day Running Man, where players will craft and find numerous weapons, armor, and customization items to give themselves an upper hand in surviving to the end.  The Culling starts out with 16-players and then gradually pushes the players towards an end-game that has them using the items that they’ve found to duke it out and crown a victor.

While PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been getting most of the headlines lately, The Culling has been in Early Access on Steam for quite some time now.  It’s been somewhat impressive, even in Alpha if just for the exciting premise.  You can read our thoughts on The Culling from last year.

If you’ve been waiting for a game like PUBG to hit the Xbox One, this is as close as you’re going to get for now.
