DICE and Electronic Arts are getting ready to reveal Battlefield 2018. Apparently the production of the trailer for the reveal is well underway as Randy Evans, the Senior Video & Media Director at DICE, has told fans as much.
“Battlefield 2018 reveal trailer is underway,” says Evans. Evans has been dropping hints about the reveal trailer for Battlefield 2018 over the past few days in a number of interactions with fans on Twitter.
So just when will DICE finally drop the reveal trailer for Battlefield 2018? That much Evans isn’t saying. The timeline for other recent Battlefield reveals has been staggered over the past few years for the different Battlefield they’ve worked on.
The latest game in the series, Battlefield 1, was revealed in May. While Battlefield Hardline was revealed in June, but leaked ahead of schedule in May. Battlefield 4 was originally revealed in March after a series of teases.
DICE very well may follow the course that they took with Battlefield 1 as the reveal trailer is currently the most watched video game trailer in YouTube history. The trailer set to the backdrop of The White Stripes “Seven Nation Army” released on May 6th and garnered over 55 million views with 2 million likes.
Battlefield fans are understandably all over the place in terms of what they want the next Battlefield game to be. Rumors suggest that DICE is heading to WW2 with Battlefield 2018, but nothing has been confirmed at this point. They very well could return to modern combat with a true sequel to Battlefield 4. It could be the third entry in the Battlefield Bad Company off-shoot. It could be a futuristic setting in a return to the Battlefield 21xx series as well. Or, it could be something completely different like we saw with Battlefield: Hardline.
The reality of the situation is that it won’t be long before we know what the next Battlefield game will be, as there’s a high probability that information starts to leak out ahead of the official reveal in the weeks ahead.
Battlefield 2018 WILL arrive this year, and we’re going to assume that its headed to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in October.
