All these amazing videos for Battlefield 3 and all, but if you’re thinking that these games are going to look like this on the PS3 and Xbox 360 when release rolls around you are kidding yourself.  The lead platform for Battlefield 3 is going to be the PC, and its more than likely going to usher many to upgrade graphics cards for their PC and experience next generation graphics now, instead of waiting for Sony and Microsoft to release a new console.

Karl Magnus Troedsson told PC Gamer that Eventhough the PC is the lead platform “We are going to make this game on 360 and PlayStation 3 as well, [but] we need to scale it down to those platforms,”.

“The PC players are going to love to hear that, but it’s a fact. The hardware specs on the console are limited. At the same time, for each iteration on these console platforms we can utilise the power of them better and better, so what we do on the other platforms is going to be amazing, and look much better on the PC too.”

“There will be a lot of extra love put into the PC version of this product”.

That extra love is what is conjuring the oohs and aahs at the recent tradeshows where Battlefield is blowing people’s minds.  Not that we anticipate the game to look bad by any means but to think it will look as good as in trailers is just stupid.
