The second weekend of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta is set to begin in just a few hours and there will be some pretty significant changes made to the game from last week. One of the most controversial things we saw in week one of the BO4 Beta was the new Body Armor available as part of the Create-a-Class loadout. in fact, many people voiced their concerns regarding this new feature and many are calling for it to be removed.
Body Armor Changes
It doesn’t sound like Treyarch is going to remove it though, instead it looks like its going to be refined. For the second week of the beta, it looks like Body Armor is getting a big nerf and some fixes that probably bring the perk more in-line with the developer’s intention for it. One of the reasons why players probably felt that Body Armor was unfair was because it wasn’t working properly according to Treyarch. A bug that was causing players to not take damage from explosives when wearing Body Armor has been fixed for Week 2 of the beta. Treyarch has also fixed a bug that was causing players to not flinch when wearing it.
Body Armor is also being tweaked to deal damage to the wearer as a percentage instead of blocking completely. Better yet, players who kill other players wearing Body Armor will get an extra +25 points that go towards their Scorestreaks. It sounds like the changes here are pretty significant, but we’ll need to see how the game plays.
Bunny Hop Removed
On the movement front, Treyarch has reduced the default jump height and they’ve scaled down jump height on subsequent jumps to prevent bunny hopping. Slide speed has been reduced, and the slide distance has also been reeled in.
As the developer tries to find the right balance in Black Ops 4 between gunplay, equipment and scorestreaks, a number of sliders are being tuned up and down for different items. You can check out the full patch notes for Beta Weekend 2 right here.
Heist Mode
There’s also some new content coming to the Black Ops 4 for Beta Weekend 2. The Hacienda Map will be available to play and a brand-new game mode will be introduced for the first time. Revealed yesterday during a livestream, Treyarch announced Heist. This party mode is something brand new for Call of Duty, and you can read all about that new mode over here.
The Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Beta is set to go live on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC at 10AM PT.
