Gearbox Software has confirmed that they will be increasing the Borderlands 2 Level Cap, and issuing another piece of DLC for the game this fall. Announced at PAX Australia at panel at the convention, Gearbox announced that the level cap would be increased 11 levels up to 72, and will see new missions and bosses in the form of downloadable content.

The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge will be released in October for $5.00. The DLC will include a mode where players can fight high level enemies to earn new loot. The company also announced that they would be issuing a free update that expands backpack, bank, and ammo slots.

That’s not all for Borderlands 2 DLC. Gearbox will release what they are calling Headhunter packs, that offer themed boss battles and new missions. They say that these Headhunter packs will see the return of characters from the original Borderlands like T.K. Baha. The developers will also continue to release character skins and head mods for Borderlands 2, as themed additional content to the DLC.

Gearbox promises more concrete details in the coming weeks about this slew of upcoming Borderlands 2 content.
