Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be heading to retailers soon, so Playstation has teamed with 2K Games to release a nine minute trailer that helps introduce you to the world and its characters. The trailer is titled “Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel — An Introduction by Sir Hammerlock AND TORGUE” which should give you an idea of what your in for if you watch it. There’s a lot of yelling, and a lot of craziness. It’s definitely worth a watch if you are at all interested in picking up the game on launch day.

Join Sir Hammerlock and TORGUE on an EXPLOSIVE tour of Pandora’s moon, Elpis, in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

The description for the video reads “Join Sir Hammerlock and TORGUE on an EXPLOSIVE tour of Pandora’s moon, Elpis, in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. MOON MONSTERS, deadly new foes, LASER WEAPONS, cryogenic elementals, LOW GRAVITY, erm, butt slams, AND MORE AWAIT YOU ON ELPIS! SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!”

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes place between the events of Borderlands and Borderlands 2, thus the interesting name. The man who will later become Handsome Jack has hired four bounty hunters named Wilhelm, Nisha, Claptrap, and Athena to save the world. The setting for this adventure is on Pandora’s moon Elpis. Being a moon mixes up the usual formula a bit by adding in lower gravity and a lack of oxygen.

One of the changes that stood out to me was the addition of the “Grinder Machine”. Essentially, this machine lets you put less valuable items in, “grind them up” and out pops a better piece of equipment for you to use. This should help with the usual loot grinding issues that happen with random drops. This would be a huge help in Destiny as well if it works as well as they advertise here.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be released on October 14th for PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Linux.
