Analysts at Cowen And Company have come to the conclusion already that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare sales will only be a fraction of those for Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Cowen And Company looked at the pre-order sales Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has garnered so far on Amazon. At its current rate, the game is selling at 40 percent less than Call of Duty: Ghosts’ pre-order sales. It is also selling around 70 percent less than Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 did back in 2012.
Pre-order sales sometimes show how much demand a game actually has. The higher the pre-order figure is, the most likely the game will sell very well. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will still sell very well, but will not be able to match its predecessors.
Cowens And Company came to the conclusion that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a sign that the series’ best days are behind them. It says the Call of Duty series has peaked in terms of popularity and sales for future games will decline with the way things are going right now.
Sledgehammer Games has tried to revamp the franchise as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare does add some interesting features. Still, it appears gamers are starting to give up on the franchise now.
