If you signed up for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 PC mod tools closed alpha, then you’ll be happy to know that the alpha is now live. Treyarch revealed today that they have started sending out invites to members of the PC mod community, so be sure to check your email regularly if you signed up.
The developer goes on to say the extensive testing that will come with the closed alpha will pave the way for an eventual open beta, though they would only say that the open beta will come in the following months.
News of modding tools coming to the PC version of Black Ops 3 was revealed in November of last year by Treyarch. They originally said that their plan was to allow the community to make their own maps and modes, as well as running their own unranked dedicated servers.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The next game in the Call of Duty series will be developed by Infinity Ward, though details on that game are slim at this point in time.
