Capcom has officially unveiled the re-release of Street Fighter V, putting an end to months of speculations about a new edition that would seek to give a boost to the popularity of the game. As its name indicates, the new edition will feature the long-demanded Arcade Mode, a new Extra Battle mode, a Gallery, an additional V-Trigger for all fighters, and all the additional characters from the seasons 1 and 2, making this an excellent starting point to any fan of the series who wants to jump in the game with all the additional content it’s been receiving in the last year.
But this is also good news for those who already have the original edition, as all the versions of the game will receive a free update that will introduce the new gameplay modes and the redesigned interface that will make navigating through the menus an easier and more appealing experience.
Some of these new features were already revealed earlier today when Amazon listed the game on their website. Now Capcom’s Unity Blog has revealed more details, like the fact that the Arcade Mode will feature six different paths inspired on Street Fighter, SFII, SF Alpha, SFIII, SF IV, and SFV, which represents a celebration of the series’ 30th anniversary.
The DLC characters from seasons 1 and 2 included in this edition are Alex, Balrog, Guile, Ibuki, Juri, Urien, Abigail, Akuma, Ed, Kolin, Menat, and one final combatant from season 2 who is yet to be revealed.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition launches for PS4 and PC on January 16, 2018. Watch the trailer below.
