Resident Evil 7 has not been announced just yet, but Capcom has teased to “stay tuned” for any new updates on it. It also looks like Devil May Cry 5 isn’t happening soon.

Dengeki PlayStation (via Siliconera) interviewed both Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata and Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi. Both had a little bit to say about upcoming video games.

First of all, when asked about Resident Evil 7, Kawata said to “please stay tuned“. He said Capcom is not at a state to talk about it right now. However, it sounds like they are in the planning stages for now.

Kawata also said he believes there should be more horror-based Resident Evil games. As fans already know, the franchise took a slip in recent years with the fifth and sixth games focusing more on action over horror. It will be interesting to see what Capcom has planned for Resident Evil 7.

Moving on to Kobayashi, he was asked about the status for a new Devil May Cry game. Sadly, he said ” there are no plans [for now]“. This is interesting because Capcom did say they would consdier making a new Devil May Cry game based off of the sales from the recent HD remasters.

Most people would like to see Devil May Cry 5 come out. A lot of fans wouldn’t want to see a direct sequel to DmC, which was an edgy reboot that long-term fans didn’t really like.
